Lubuntu on a netbook

i have an Asus Eee PC netbook(1005HAB) that i installed Lubuntu on, everything is working fine right off the bat except when i open certain configuration windows that are too big for the screen. For example if i open FireFox or Terminator preferences windows, they go beyond the task bar at the bottom and you can't get to all the options. Some windows you can maximize to get them to fit, but others seem to just stay too big. Luckily I've gotten by setting what i needed and hitting 'enter' and my change saved.

Anyone have a fix for this? i believe the resolution is 1024 x 600

I have encountered this.

If you hold down the ALT key then click and hold the left mouse button, you should be able to move the application window so that you can access bottom and side edges so you can resize the window.
