Lost Ram


After struggling with a new install I noticed that my ram is now 256 not 512 when it goes through the begining garbage about my computer. How serious is this?

at POST does it show 512?
and if so what is the output of :
free -m

i'd also reseat the modules, it's not too hard to not push one in all the way.
