Lost CD rom drive...
- For some reason my machine booted flaky and didn't see the CD Rom - when linux came up it said something about cleaning up my settings and I foolishly clicked OK....
Now I can't see to get to my CD Rom - I created a new icon on the desktop but when I click it it says there is no Dev= entry... So I go look at the shortcut I made and see where you select the Dev (device right?) - But there is no CD rom to select anymore I'm running Mandrake 10 and KDE desktop. Thanks for any help :) |
Mandrake cleaned out your fstab file, a list of file system to be mounted at boot. I suppose there is some detect program for new hardware in Mandrake you should use.
You can add your cdrom drive manually, e.g.: /dev/hdc /cdrom iso9660 ro,user,noauto 0 0 or /dev/cdrom /media/cdrom1 iso9660 ro,user,noauto 0 0 (also see 'man fstab'). |
