lost access to GUI after kernel update


hello,
i have a dual boot machine with suse 10.2 and ms. last night i updated the kernel and in doing so lost access to my GUI. i am useing an nvidia graphics card and had xgl working fine till i screwed with it. i have waded thru yast via the command promp and tried to enable xgl but am told the GDM (?) might not be running. it is installed, but have no idea what to do from here.

Since you've changed your kernel you should also reinstall the nvidia driver.
