Talking Losing tty01 after compiling kernel 2.4.24


hai everyone,
yesterday night i tried to compile linux kernel version 2.4.24
wanna customize my kernel
and the result is

keymap fail
tty01, tty02, tty03 all fail
unable to launch terminal for me to login
and it complain about
init 1 respawn too fast, wait for 5 minutes
init 2 respawn too fast, wait for 5 minutes
init 3 respawn too fast, wait for 5 minutes

any idea what my mistake is?

thanks

Check if this is compiled into your kernel:
File Systems -> /dev/pts

Without this enbaled, you can't open terminals...

yeah, thanks for the suggestion
as the laptop is within my sight at the moment, i will check on it ASAP
