lopster question

I installed lopster 1.2.0.
I can not download any mp3.
I refreshed the server list, and then i typed the name of the song in the search section. It appear a list of many songs, but if i click over one or more file, the download does not start.
Checking in the download section there is no active download and no queued one. All my request are inactive and under status it's written not existant. What am i missing?
Any suggestions?

just curious...after you refreshed the server list, did you click 'connect' ? and if you did connect, how many networks are you connected to? (it should tell you how many nets on the bottom of the window)

Yes, i select all the server and i clicked connect. I usually connect to 5,6 or 7 server.
I downloaded only a song just half an hour ago, and then the same problem. The download does not start and the songs i would like to download are listed in the inactive download and there the status is not existent.
(i tried to play the only song with xmms but it doesn't work. why?)

the first thing that comes to mind is have you added .mp3 support for xmms? red hat 9 does not ship with .mp3 support. so you must add them yourself. there are many articles here that explains the how and why's. you can get it from http://shrike.freshrpms.net/rpm.html?id=832.

if i remember correctly, nonexistant means the user who you tried to download off of is no longer online or no longer is offering the file. i've pretty much stopped using lopster because i've been having connecting problems lately. i finally broke down and configured wine to run winmx.
