Looking to buy a network card

I'm going to start looking for a network card that is compatible with my Redhat 8 and Window$ 2K system.
Any suggestions?

I have linksys fast ethernet nc100 card that works great with mandrake, and should definately work with redhat.

Thanks for the fast reply.
I was hoping for someone to post a reply because I'm about to go to the store right now and wanted to check out some cards.

Thanks.
One quick question, I plan on getting Road Runner cable internet service soon.
Do I need a nic card in order to get it to work under Linux? I just wondered in case I cant find one soon or before I get the internet service.

Yes you will need a nic in order for it to work in linux or any other os.

You can probably also use USB, but I think that's alot more trouble in linux, someone else here will probably know more about that. From what I hear your better off with a nic.

Thanks, I had RR in the past and just used a usb port, but I thought I read somewhere that I had to have a card to use it in Linux.
Thanks a lot.
