Looking for sound guide

Hey i am trying to learn/understand how the sound system works on Linux. Whats about arts/Oss/alsamixer and other stuff we use when sound goes wrong!! Where should i start reading?

did you search for "Linux Audio" ? you should get quite a few relevant hits like

then "oss audio" and "alsa audio"
