Looking for information to create my own root filesystem

Hello,

I would like to create my own root file system but I do not find a correct page where explain, more or less, how to create file system.

At this moment, I can install lilo in my compact flash and kernel uncompress correctly, but after it, return me a kernel panic because it is necessary to have a correct file system.

Could some body tell me where can I find information about it, or where can I find a file system for x86 32-bits.

Best regards.

Hi,

A few good links;

'Rute Tutorial & Exposition'
'Linux Documentation Project'
'LinuxSelfHelp'

The above links are just a few good references that can be used by a newbie to enhance their endeavor with GNU/Linux.

These links and others can be found at 'Slackware-Links'. More than just Slackware« links!

Hello,

Thank you everybody. Now I have made my own root file system.

I have made my own compact flash with LILO as boot loader, BusyBox as file system and DROPBEAR as ssh conection (only I need scp to copy from my laptop to embedded system).

Best regards
