Question Looking for Good Email Server to Use on Ubuntu 9.10

Looking for recommendations on an easy to configure email server to use on Ubuntu. I have been using SME but I have encountered some issues with how emails are handled. I primarily want to use it in a test capacity for a small lan I have created. Thnxs in advance.....

Well, 'easy' is a relative thing when it comes to mail servers. Postfix and Sendmail are both great options, they handle lots of mail, lots of features, and are scalable if things grow. They also hook up with web-mail options (Squirrelmail, etc.), to give you even more flexibility.

However, they are definitely not a GUI based, 15 minute install either. As with anything, you get out what you put in. Of the two, postfix is easier to install, and there are many how-to guides that should get you going quickly.

Friend has been using Zimbra and seemed to be well pleased.
