Looking for a program

Just acquired a IDE HD from a friend for a server.

Is there any good programs which check the HD for bad sectors and check for possible immenient failures?

I've had some HDs fail me recently and want to make sure this HD is in good condition before I setup the server with it.

Thanx!

PS - the server is going to run OpenBSD 3.3

Try "badblocks" and "fsck".

Thanks for the info!

fsck is exactly what I was looking for.

Unfortunately, I cannot use badblocks because my OpenBSD server filesystem is not ext2 or ext3 but BSD4.2
