looking for a music player that supports ipod


ive heard that amarok works but im not sure how to download it... can someone please help.

Amarok has very good iPod support and is a good media player all around (though a bit heavy), but if you aren't running KDE then there are some other options to look at.

As for installing it, that would depend on your distribution. Any distro with KDE packages should have Amarok packages too.

I have been using gtkpod with my ipod classic - it works reasonably well. AFAIK, it's in ubuntu repositories.

Another vote for gtkpod. I use it with my ipod video. It allows you to move music both directions (computer to device/device to computer). It also supports smart playlists and has a decent ID3 tag editor.
