Looking for a good list of shell commands with examples
I'm looking for a really good list of Linux shell commands with **examples** of common uses.
Yes, the man pages are very thorough, but for a newbie like me, they are really tough to decipher. Anyone have a link to a good list? I'd like something I could print out and leave by the PC for quick reference. |
Go to your favorite book seller and rummage around. A book like Linux Complete is almost nothing but commands and examples. Or my favorite, Running Linux also has good explanations of a lot of operations within Linux and how to do them with various command line entries.
