Logrotate: Rotate Apache logs, but never delete

Hi.

I need to rotate the access_log and ssl_access_log for Apache, and need to keep the logfiles for a long period of time. So, does anyone know which option to use so that logrotate only rotates (and compresses) these files, but never deletes them?

Regards,
kenneho

Well, the man page isn't that helpful, but it implies that if you don't specify the 'rotate' option at all, it won't delete them. Not sure if that's the case though, why don't you set up a test daemon and logrotate script and see what happens?

I agree that the man page isn't that helpful. But I'll try your suggestion and report back my results.
