Question Logout= Blank screen

I just installed Mandrake 9.1 on a second HD. When I select "logout" and then either restart, switch users etc... I just get a blank screen. I then have to restart the pc from the tower. How do I correct this?
Thanks for any help you have.

I have somewhat the same problem and haven't found a solution
yet. You might try running halt from the command line. If you get
caught with a black screen with no prompt try crtl+alt+ del to
re-boot.

Darrin, if you're using a GUI (graphical user interface) like KDE or GNOME, then you're referring to X windows. Terminal is just old-school CLI (command line interface) linux, like DOS was years ago.
