LOGON SCREEN Overlays Itself - Too Big

Hi All. Thanks for the help in the past. I have just installed Red Hat 9.0 on a Dell desktop. I took the defaults for all monitor/video settings. When I startup LINUX the user logon screen has fields on top of themselves. The tool bar is also oversized. When I get into LINUX the icons and tool bar are so big some fields on screens are hidden by the toolbar. I tried every setting in the DISPLAY options and rebooted several times. Is there a way to fix this issue? Thanks all.
Bob

Try ctrl-alt-( - or + )

-or-

Have you tried modding the XF86Config or xorg.conf file? (Usually located in /etc/X11 or /etc)
