loging as system administrator
 
I have dedicated server but not system administrator. anyhow trying to familiar with my server. I cannot access some folders fo my server. the hosting company says that get access as system administrator but on questioning how it says we haven't open teaching center or school :)

I am using putty to access my server. how can i get access as system admin??

If you have root password just type 'su -l' in shell and give root password and you will have system administrator access to the server.

If you don't have the password you should contact the current admin and ask for the password.
