Login problems, cant enter password
 

Hi

First off, I am into day two of a home install of Mandrake 9.2 so I am not to clued on about the Linux lingo. My problem is that I am trying to login with the command line in runlevel 3. I get the prompt asking for the user login which I enter. I then press enter to move the cursor down to the password line but then I cant enter any text from my keyboard. If I press enter it says login failed. Should I be able to login using the same user names and passwords as I do with the GUI login.

Same username and passwords however you will not see any text or * being echoed to the monitor while entering a password in runlevel 3.
