Login as root.

Could someone please tell me how I can make root appear on the computers login screen and boot up to text mode. It is a isolated experimental box, so its safe to do this. I managed ounce a long time ago but have forgotten. Also can anyone tell me how to change the screen resolution?

give us more info ... i think i know what your talking about. You want to be able to click the picture that has the username to login. You can enable this in control center in KDE. System Administration >> login manager >> users tab >> uncheck root as hidden user. As for logging into text mode with root, not sure.
