Logical volume extension error

Hi
Iam using vmware. Initially i created

physical volume 50GB and volume group Data 50Gb and

Logical volume data1 48G. Now I extended physical volume

size 50GB into 100GB. After that i extended volume group Data

50GB into 100GB.

When I extend logical volume size Iam getting following

error
"Extending logical volume data1 to 98GB

device mapper:reload ioctl failed:

Invalid argument Failed to suspend data1"

Please mail me as soon as possible. My mail-id is

"linuxriaz@rediffmail.com".
