Logging on from one pc1 2 pc2

I have two computers running RH9. I'm trying to log in to compA from compB

I get a message box that pops up asking me for authentification, wanting me to put in a username and passord plus a domain field. I have used the login that i set up in my users accounts but nothing seems to work between the 2 computers.

I have a winxp machine that sees the computers, but I cannot access either LINUX compA or compB.]

Not sure what step i've overlooked, been going through alot of read-me but still a genuine newbie. HELP.

How are you attempting to log in to the machines? Presumably over a home network and with telnet or ssh?
