Location of a printer in the Linux operating system

Hello I would like to know what are the steps to locating a printer that has been installed on the Linux OS

Hi,

what do you mean by "locating a printer"?

Also, I'm not familiar with "installing a printer". Generally on linux systems you enable printing to a specific printer by configuring cups.

We could likely help you more if you told us what distro of Linux and what make/model of printer.

Here's a good introduction to classic command line Linux printing: http://tldp.org/HOWTO/Printing-Usage-HOWTO-2.html

There are a number of useful links on the front page of this site: http://www.linuxfoundation.org/colla...s/openprinting
