Question LOAF vs Boot Disk

What is the difference between a LOAF disk and the Boot Disk the install asks you if you want to create?

Is there a web page you could point me at to explain this in detail?

The entire OS is contained on the LOAF floppy disk. It boots the computer and loads the kernel. Another such floppy is Tom's Boot root disk.

The boot disk the installer asks you to build is just a boot disk that runs the OS on the hard drive. It would the similar to booting from a windows 98 emergency boot floppy and then starting windows. Another analogy would be that the hard drive had an empty MBR so you would need the floppy to boot the computer but then it loads the kernel on the hard drive.

The boot floppy you create during the install can be considered an emergency boot disk if the boot loader becomes corrupted.
