As ive said. I have burned a copy of Mandrake Move. It is obvisously not Nero Burner that isnt working as the Move cd works just fine.

what distro are you trying to burn. it could have been just a botch image. did you try searching for other images for the same distro? like here on lq.org? or did you try linuxiso.org?

i am sorry... i am having trouble too here.... how does one go about MD5SUMing an .iso image?

Are you using Lin or Win?

There's an md5 sum on the FTP in the same directorie a the ISO.

right but the thing i don't get is how can you or what moreover is the MD5SUM for?

The MD5 sum is a hash code --> if the iso is NOT like the original one, the hash code changes (so you know you haven't got the 'real' cd)
