Loading Linux no GUI!!
 

Im a real newbie and after installing madrake 9.2, everything works, except that when i load linux, i dont get a GUI, i want it to load kde, but all i get is a thing similar in look to dos!

how do i load kde?

did you try typing "startx" after login?

for the start

this is temporary solution ur problem but this will work if u have installed X server

for permanent solution
try changing ur init level to 5,

in the /etc/inittab file

this will make the syustem go to gui mode by default

Thanx for your help, and i worked on one of my pcs, but the other came up with loads of lines of error, i think summat to do with my graphix card, and as such didnt work. any ideas about that one?
