livecd...scrambled after it loads

hey guys, i've tried out a wolvix & dreamlinux livecd and the screen scrambles after the load bar finishes. i checked the md5 and it matches. and other livecds(ubuntu, elive, sam linux) work.

my video card is an ATI Radeon Xpress 200...if that helps any.

any help is appreciated.

try cheatcodes at boot

wolvix xmodule=ati

but I can not see it here http://wiki.wolvix.org/CheatCodes but knoppix has it here
http://www.knoppix.net/wiki/Cheat_Codes

could not find any for dream but try dreamlinux xmodule=ati

what have you got to lose?

Definitely read those cheat codes.

It's also possible that you're asking for a resolution your card doesn't support. If your problem is a "bad" video mode in X, then "Ctrl-Alt-NumPadPlus" or "Ctrl-Alt-NumPadMinus" might unscramble your screen. However, if that works, it's likely that you'll wind up w/ a screen that is a viewport into a larger window, one where taking the mouse to its edge pans your screen over the entire X window. (I hate this way of doing things.)

If this is the problem, then the chart of "vga=" codes close to the bottom of the cheat codes wiki page may have your answer.
