LinuxMint can't "see" internal cam of Lenovo 3000 v200
Neither did Ubuntu !
Besides I use Pidgin and Empathy, and want to video chat. How can I get the cam work. Best Regards Kemal |
Hello and Welcome to LinuxQuestions,
What version of LinuxMint are you using? What type of webcam is included in your computer? Check with: Code:
dmesg | grep cam Kind regards, Eric |

Hi,
Thanks for the output, next time try putting it between CODE tags please for readability. Have a look at this thread at Ubuntu forums, there are some possible solutions in there. But if you're unlucky you might be suffering from the bug mentioned here. Let me know how the tests from the Ubuntu thread go please and then we'll take it from there. Kind regards, Eric |
Thanks for the response. My next week chore is to install the latest Mint and try your suggestions then, and I'll let you know.
Best Regards Kemal |

On the Clevo D901C (and maybe others) you need to turn on the webcam with Fn-F10.
Can be used from within a Windows guest on VMware Workstation for Linux 6 (you need v6 for the USB 2.0 support). There might be additional information on the ALi Corp M5603C page. |
