linuxconf in RH 7.2

I bought a redhat 7.2 book that I thought would help me better understand linux. However, for many of the things the author wants me to do, he uses a utility called linuxconf. He says it is in the /usr/sbin/ directory, but I can't find it or get it to work.

Can you tell me more about this program and possibly why a book written for RH 7.2 would use something that RH 7.2 does not apparently have. Thank you.

linuxconf is no longer installed by default in Redhat 7.2 as its buggy and unstable. But you should be able to install as they usually include it on the redhat cd's.

Try /usr/sbin/setup instead :)
