Linux Zorin OS CD won't load fully.

I downloaded and burn to a cd both Zorin Core 9 an Zorin Lite 9 on individual cds. It loads very slowly on my Compaq Presario desktop.
Both cds load quickly on a Dell laptop, a custom made desktop, and a Dell desktop. I thought that the DVD driver might need an update. The drive is up to date. Linux is supposed to work better on older pcs. Any suggestions?

Linux is supposed to work better on older pcs [compared with any alternative].
Obviously an old machine with a slow CPU and limited memory will still be slower than a modern machine.
