i tried to install some linux apps on ppc, and on compilation, lots of funny characters starting scrolling endlessly on my screen - reminded me of the matrix, except the matrix actually meant something. anyways, im thinking maybe becayse i my yellow dog is installed on a mac (ppc architecture), and the app i compiled was made for i386 cpu architecure. could that be it??? if yes, then where can i get some apps for yd on ppc??? if there is actually a place that provides that...any help would greaaatly be appreciated...thanx...

Well, it is not unusual for masses of text to scroll up your screen during the compile process. But they usually form notes about directories and libraries. This can go on for some time.

What are you trying to compile?

You need to go read the Yellow Dog community board.
