Linux/WinXP Partition


Hi Guys...I made a fat32 (2 gig.) partition to share between Linux (Mandrake 10) and winXP and now when I'm in Linux I can't see it?? I can se all the other Partitions that I have , but not this new one.. What did I do wrong?? or maybe I'm looking in the wrong place. Any help!! Thanks Mike

Did you try mounting the partition first?

No....Hmmm I did not...how would I do that, and what do I have to do to correct what I have allready done?? Thanks

First you need to create a directory where you will mount the partition. It's in this directory that you will see your files.

Ex: mkdir /mnt/data


To mount the partition, use the "mount" program. You need to know which devices is your partition (run fdisk -l to see all the available partitions)


Ex: # mount /dev/hdax /mnt/data


After just cd /mnt/data and do what you like
