do you already have your hard drive set up to handle linux and windows?
if so then install linux and enjoy.
otherwise you will have to split your harddrive to handle linux

When you install, there should be an option to use free space if you have made another partition with Partition magic or a program like that. Then it will install in the other partition and your windows partition won't be touched.
