should be a menu item called terminal. click on it and in the window type what has been mentioned before. have to know roots password

Your only mistake was installing GNU/Linux with the other(M$-windows) harddrives detached. All this has done is change the boot order. If you can still boot window$, all is not lost. Before you try again, read the install readme, have at least one partition available and don't change the system specifically for installing GNU/Linux, it really is smarter than winblow$.
