sudo nano /etc/network/interfaces looks like:

auto lo
iface lo inet loopback
iface eth0 inet dhcp

allot-hotplug wlan0
auto wlan0
iface wlan0 inet dhcp
wpa-conf /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf

AND

sudo nano /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf looks like:

ctrl_interface=DIR=/var/run/wpa_supplicant GROUP=netdev
update_config=1
network={
ssid="MyNetworkName"
scan_ssid=1
key_mgmt=WPA-PSK
psk="MyNetworkPassword"
}

I am very grateful for your patience and help with getting this up and working. Thank you very much for your time "codeguy".

I'd believe the error message. wpa_supplicant is probably already running:

ps ax|grep wpa_supplicant

google found this might help:

Edit: oops, too late.
