Linux/Ubu 10.10 does not recognise new CD int drive - how come?


New to Linux/Ubu 10.10 - just installed slim LG opt drive on mini ITX sys with GA mobo. Sys does not recognise the new drive even tho 'Places/Computer' shows the drive to be in place - any help appreciated,

You could always check in a terminal if the drive is listed by typing:

ls /dev/disk/by-id | less
