Angry Linux SYSTEM FAILURE

Hello,
I'm new to Linux , running FC9 on i686 proc. 2.6 , H.D. 80GB , RAM 512MB , VGA ATI radeon 200 series.
there were no problem and the system was fine until I've updated my system with full update.
the problem is my system boots (decompress kernel, reads LVM drives and says STARTING UDEV [OK] THEN system hangs and the screen go black AS IF the computer WAS TURNED OFF, with no respond from the keyboard.
what can i do to fix this problem ??
