I'm a complete newbie to Linux. Basically, I need to install Call Manager version 6 on an IBM XSeries 306M server for testing purposes. For Call Manager to work I need to install a version of Linux.
I have attempted to Install SUSE 9 and Fedora 10 but unfortunately on an IBM 306M it can't detect the Hard disk.
On SUSE 9 I boot from CD. Installation starts but I have to abort becuase it cannot find a hard disk. I then abort which takes me to a main menu screen (Kernel 2.6.5-97-default) with various options.
I press 'Kernel Modules (Hardware Drivers)' which seems the logical place to install drivers. I assume 'Add Driver Update' is the next part of the process. I then have the option to enter text, but this is where I get lost. What file type is the driver? How is the driver intalled?
I think I've found the necessary driver (link below)
However, I just don't know how to update the drivers to allow me to proceed with install.
Fedora 10 seems easier to use, but I have the same problem dectecting the hard drive.
Any advice would be most appreciated.
