Linux running slow

I just installed red hat 9 on a Gateway computer that runs an AMD 500 MHZ, 128mg ram,10g hard drive. When selecting programs to install, I installed everything. What program(s) could be slowing my system down? I runs fast with windows installed. Please help.

type "top" in a shell then press capital "P" this will show you the program or process that is taking up the most cpu time. if you want to speed up your computer try using windowmaker or icewm instead of kde as they are less proccessor hungry :-)

Redhat LOVES to start every service under the sun, including servers, portmap, etc.

It really bogs the system down.

Go into your "Services" GUI (im pretty sure Redhat has one) and disable any you dont need.

Also, what Desktop Environment are you using? GNOME and KDE are really slow, especially on an old system.
