Linux RHE4 Java Applet Failed to Load When Loading Web Interface
Hi,
I am accessing Brightstore Arcserve CA through the web interface. To do this I just enter the linux server IP followed by the port number and it loads CA on internet explorer 6. I do this on a Windows computer.
This works fine for one of the linux servers, but if I load a different linux server the same method just a different IP it comes up with this error 'Java Applet Failed to Load' I clicked on details and it loaded this;
Java Plug-in 1.5.0_09
Using JRE version 1.5.0_09 Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM
User home directory = C:\Documents and Settings\jennie.kingsland
----------------------------------------------------
c: clear console window
f: finalize objects on finalization queue
g: garbage collect
h: display this help message
l: dump classloader list
m: print memory usage
o: trigger logging
p: reload proxy configuration
q: hide console
r: reload policy configuration
s: dump system and deployment properties
t: dump thread list
v: dump thread stack
x: clear classloader cache
0-5: set trace level to <n>
----------------------------------------------------
java.lang.NullPointerException
at cai.arcserve.mmoadmin.MMOAdmin.GetPrimaryHostName(Unknown Source)
at cai.arcserve.mmoadmin.MMOAdmin.init(Unknown Source)
at sun.applet.AppletPanel.run(Unknown Source)
at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)
Is this something on the server side? I pressume it is if I can load the other linux server fine without this error.
How do I resolve this? Is java not installed on the linux machine? How do I check if java is installed and correctly configured? I am not sure which command to use or where to go from here? I have searched Google but unfortunately cannot find an answer to my problem.

Well, it depends. You say "linux machine", but don't say what version/distro of linux they're running. Are both linux systems the same? Same version of Arcserve on both of them?? Different arcserve applets might require different versions of Java....have you contacted Arcserve????
