Linux RedHat OS for an AcerNote 350
Hiyas,
Here goes. I have an AcerNote 350 laptop. It is a 586, has 516MB HDD and has 16MB RAM. Yes, I know it is old. It currently runs Win95. I would like to install a Linux RedHat 0S on it. I have been having difficulty finding system requirements etc for older RedHat versions. What version do you reccommend? MeliMel - yet another linux newbie ;) |
Re: Linux RedHat OS for an AcerNote 350
You are looking at the wrong distrobution with what you have. With Redhat or Fidora you might get lucky with dioing a minumum install and have no free space left.
You would be best off with finding something like Slackwares' zipslack or dambsmall, penut linux, a linux that can fit on a usb thumb drive. http://slax.linux-live.org/download.php http://www.linux.org/dist/index.html Search for Minimalist If you can upgrade the drive and ram but dont go for the big $$$$. |
