Guys,
I downloaded the 3 ios image files. I rebooted by computer and then Linux Mandrake 9.1 Installation popped up! I am currently installing it. I am going to try Mandrake 9.1. I wiped my entire hard drive and it is half way done. I am sorry for not posting soon. I hope that I can figure out how to work it. Soon, if it works, I may need your help setting up my domain and figuring out the email server. Is that hard? Anyways, I plan on adding Redhat as a dualboot in the future if I can get mandrake working and I feel confortable enough to add Redhat.

Same Prop,
I booted Mandrake 9.1 under secure and it just sat there at:
INIT: "version 2.84 booting." What should I do now? It's doing the same thing Redhat did!

How did you burn the disks. Does that hard drive have any other operating system on it? Did the other OS ex. windows work on this computer?

Yes
Windows always worked on this computer. Mandrake is currently the only os on this computer. I burned the disk and the program idenified them as OS images. I asked if I wanted to burn them like that and I said ok. It booted off the disks and installed ok. But, like Redhat, it dosen't boot. Also, do you know where to download Redhat 9 for free?

No,
Only Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 2000 and Pro, and Windows XP have worked on this computer. This is the first time I have tried to install Linux on this computer. I found some more information about it though. It as an NVIDIA 2 Video Card and 128mb of Ram. It has a 20g harddisk and two CD drives. It has a regular size floppy and a Gateway EV 700 Moniter. It has a sound card and an ethernet card. It has a modem and USB ports. It has serial ports and mouse and keyboard ports. It has one printer port and that's it. It has always ran fine expcept for Linux. I really want to use it for a web server and really need to know how to get Redhat or Mandrake working. Can you also tell me where Linux Redhat 9 can be downloaded?

Heres the link:

I find it really strange- the problem that is..something is interfering with the boot process. I dont think installing redhat 9 would resolve the problem but give it a shot . One last thing I can think of is, does your hard drive have any other OS on it? i.e are u trying to do a dual boot? Maybe, thats whats interfering with the boot process..

No,
I am not doing a dual boot process. Currently, it has nothing on it. But a little while ago, it had Mandrake. I'll try Redhat 9 after I try Redhat 7.3. Do you think I'll ever get it working?

I dont think theres a problem with distro..mandrake 9.1 should install the same as redhat 9.0. Theres something wrong with your hardware. Check your bios by hitting del while booting up and see if your drives are properly configured there.
