linux redhat 5 server is not booting


/ contains a filesystem with error, check forced

this msg will display, but it not enter into the OS

Boot the system using RHEL 5 iso in rescue mode. Make sure that / is not mounted. Run fsck on that.

Note: If you have got important data on the box make sure you already have the latest backup. If not then I would suggest getting in touch with Red Hat before running fsck as fsck sometimes act very weird and might wipe off data in urge of fixing the issue. As you have paid for the subscription make use of it
