Linux Red Hat - printing is disabled - how to start a specific printer

We are running Oracle ERP on Linux and have several printers defined on the server. The print spooler (I think) has been backing up and I learned how to clear it using the lprm jobname command. From the users.request#, in the lpq -a, I determined that the issue is caused by 2 of the 25 printers. Using the the lpc> status, I found that the 2 printers in question show "queuing is enable" and "printing is disabled". I tried using the >lpc start printername command, but it returned the following statement: start is not implemented by the CUPS version of lpc.

How can I enable printing for these 2 printers?
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Are you running RH(very old) or RHEL? And which version?

If you have a browser on the system, try http://localhost:631/ which should give you a web-like interface.
Alternatively if you have the GUI, there is a tool under System->Admin, iirc.
Possibly
system-config-printer

at the cmd line.
Can you add the name/version of your distro to your profile for better help eg RHEL5.3

I must admit I'm not sure. What is RHEL? I am very new at this. We lost our DBA and I'm a very functional person - not technical. But I'm learning from some great people who are willing to share their knowledge.

Chris' response actually provided the solution. The 2 printers are now up and running.

Regards,
TR

Thank you Cris. We do have the localhost:631 which I was unaware of until I saw your post. We have re-started the 2 problem printers.

RHEL is Red Hat Enterprise Linux. If you post the results of "uname -a" we will be able to tell you if you are running RH5 or RHEL5.
