Linux puppy internet connection fails

I have installed puppy 3.01 on a partition and xp on another partition on my old Dell OptiPlex gx1 pc. Grub is on the hard drive and I can boot to either OS. I have a hard wired connection from my Linksys router. I can connect to the internet in xp, but when trying to connect in puppy I get red and gray flashes and then a timeout. I have entered all the correct info in the connection wizard. It says my connections tests OK.I don't know what else to try. I was going to post an attachment of my ifconfig -a status, but the rules say I am not allowed.

If you're using DHCP, you could try setting static addressing instead. Some distros dislike my router and that satisfies them, although I have no idea why!
