Linux permission issues in include folder

I am using Ubuntu on VMware 9. I want to access the folder computer/usr/include
when ever I try creating a new folder here it gives me an error msg saying that I dnt have permission.
I want to include this folder of rapidxml in order to read an xml file.

I tried going into properties and adjusting the sharing option, but it doesn't let me change. any help will be highly appreciated?
