I'm not familiar with the hardware on this model, but you may not have too much difficulty.
You have to be comfortable with partitioning. However, speaking for Debian and Fedora, most installers now will take care of this for you. You just select something like "Use the entire hard drive", and confirm any prompts warning you that you will lose any data on deleted/overridden partitions.
Pick yourself up a live distribution first. There are plenty to be had. This will allow you to test your hardware before committing to erasing your harddrive. This way you don't wipe it and then find there are too many issues for you to deal with.
