Linux on a powermac G4 question
 
i want to put Linux on my Powermac G4, but dont know where to start, and was wondering if anyone could help me. also i dont know where to download from, none of the websites iv tried seem to work so if someone could suggest a website that would be nice.

yellowdoglinux is a ppc-only distribution that's quite easy to install and configure: http://www.yellowdoglinux.com

if you are a bit more experienced with linux or if you are looking for a more optimised system you should check out debain (www.debain.org). I've got it running on a pretty old imac without any problems.
