linux on a p133 that will only boot S-T-D
I have an old old p133 machine that I struggled to get linux on forever. Eventually I gave up. Yesterday for some reason I threw in a Knoppix S-T-D disc and it worked. I'd tried knoppix and ubuntu live cds before but could never get it to boot. While I can use it through STD, I want to install some kind of linux on the hard disk.
Any suggestions on how I would go about finding version that will work? I know STD is based on knoppix but I dont know which version. And I know knoppix is based on debian so maybe I want an old version of debian? Other than the modules in STD, what else should I be looking for to try and match?
