Linux on 1st windows on 2nd hd...

I have win xp running on one pc. Im ought to add another harddrive in it with Redhat 9 installed on it. What would be the best way to handle booting as the linux drive would be the master drive,and windows the slave.

So that when booting i could choose which system to boot.

I know how to make it work when they are on the same disk but iam not sure how to do it when theyre this way.

Thanks if you bother.

Same way. I use LILO and I have Mepis and an NTFS partition on /dev/hda and WinXP on /dev/hdb. I'll post my lilo.conf so you can use it as a guide (btw, ignore the section about the 2.6 kernel. I just installed it and haven't got it working - kernel panic - and I don't know if its a problem with how I pointed to the initrd.img or not).

map=/boot/map
bitmap=/boot/mepis.bmp
bmp-colors=2,,,3,,
bmp-table=90p,160p,1,15,17
bmp-timer=400p,148p,3,2,
boot=/dev/hda
backup=/dev/null
timeout=150
prompt
default=WindowsXP

image="/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.0-1-686"
vga=791
initrd="/boot/initrd.img-2.6.0-1-686"
label="Debian-2.6"
append="nomce hdc=ide-scsi hdd=ide-scsi"
root="/dev/hda5"

image="/boot/vmlinuz-2.4.22"
vga=791
label="linux"
append="nomce hdc=ide-scsi hdd=ide-scsi"
root="/dev/hda5"

image=/boot/vmlinuz-2.4.22
vga=791
label=failsafe
append="nomce "
root=/dev/hda5

image=/boot/memtest86.bin
label=memtest

other=/dev/hdb1
label="WindowsXP"
boot-as=0x80

I love that boot-as tag Saves 2 more lines to be written.
BTW, you can boot the other way around, but the drive I use for Linux is a 20G fujitsu I picked up at a 2nd hand store and it had this ontrack bootmanager stuff and seems to conflict with all 3 bootloaders I have tried, so I swapped 'em and cross-mapped the Windows drive.
