Not far fetched at all given what's in post #8. However, it seems that the OP plans to install and run windows, so I guess it's relevant any more.

I have a fealing that linpus light IS installed
AND
the op is putting the rescue cd in and booting that

the install/rescue CD is for fixing things

remove the cd from the drive and reboot

Hi! I had the same problem when I purchased an Acer computer. Acer devices often come with a customized form of Linpux Linux installed on it.

I wouldn't recommend you to continue using it for a beginner since it can be a hard task to customize and install a GUI on a very basic command line version what is provided by your computer manufacturer.

Now you have the following options:

1. Buy a copy of Microsoft Windows and install it using this tutorial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pf408Rkc5IA

2. Download an easy to use distribution of linux like Ubuntu or Linux Mint which you can get from http://ubuntu.com and http://linuxmint.com respectively.
You can install both of them using these tutorials:
